Announcements, week 37

  • The Catholic Students’ Club will meet every other Tuesday starting on September 9, 2025, at Church of St. James the Apostle in Lauttasaari (address: Myllykallionrinne 1, 00200 Helsinki).
    There will be the Rosary and an opportunity for confession before the Mass. Mass in Latin  begins at 6:00 PM. After the Mass, coffee and a nice get-together.
    All students and young adults and others interested in the Catholic Faith, welcome! 
  • On Saturday, September 13, a traditional pilgrimage will be held to the medieval church in Hattula in honor of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. There will be a walk of 8.5 kilometers on foot from the Hämeenlinna railway station. You can also take a direct bus from Helsinki to the church.   • The youth evenings for teenagers are starting again in St. Mary’s Parish (Visit an external site. The link opens in a new tab.). The first youth evening will be next Saturday, September 13, from 6 to 8 PM in the parish hall (address Mäntytie 2, Helsinki). The youth evenings are also for 13–19-year-olds who are interested in joining the Catholic Church.
  • There will be Mass in Vietnamese on Sunday 14th of September at 12.30 PM. An Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will start after the Vietnamese Mass and will last till 5.30 pm. Mass in Tikkurila will be celebrated at 10 am.
  • There might be still available spots for the pilgrimage to Rome, taking place from November 10th to 16th. Everyone is welcome to join, not just members of our parish. Please register preferably by email henrik@katolinen.fi. More information on the parish website.
  • St. Mary’s parish will host a Life in the Spirit Seminar on Fridays, September 12 – October 24, after the evening Mass from 6:45–8:15 p.m. in the St. Mary’s parish hall. The purpose of these seven sessions is to encounter the Holy Spirit in a new way and to be strengthened in faith. The course is free of charge.
