Each summer a pilgrimage is made to Köyliö to honour Saint Henry, the Patron Saint of our Cathedral, our Diocese and all of Finland. In 2017 the day Holy Mass is celebrated on the small island of Kirkkokari in Köyliönjärvi lake is Sunday, June 18. You can take part in the pilgrimage either by foot, which means setting off from Yläne on Friday, June 16, or you can take the bus from Helsinki on Sunday morning, June 18. Pilgrimage on Foot
- Meeting and leaving from Turku bus station at 16:50 (4.50pm)* to Yläne, where we will be staying the first night.
- If you arrive by car, dinner and meeting at Yläne will be at 19:00 (7 p.m.)
Saturday 17.6
- After Mass, walking from Yläne to Kankaanpää.
Sunday 18.6
- Walking from Kankaanpää to Köyliö
- 13:00 (1pm) Holy Mass at the island
- Approx. 15:00 (3pm) departure for Helsinki or Turku by bus.
This year, a longer, ecumenical pilgrimage from Turku to Köyliö will take place from 12 June to 18 June. Information about this option is available at henrikin.wordpress.com/st-henrys-pilgrimage
Price for food and overnight stays is € 40-50. **

Pilgrimage by bus
The bus to Köyliö leaves St Henry's Cathedral at 9 a.m. and stops at the bus 18 bus stop by St Mary's at 9.15-9.25. The bus fare is EUR 25 and is paid in cash on the bus. An additional fee of EUR 4 is paid for the transport across the lake to the island where the Mass is celebrated.
