Pilgrimage to Köyliö

Each summer a pilgrimage is made to Köyliö to honour Saint Henry, the patron saint of our Cathedral, our Diocese and all of Finland.
In 2019 the day Holy Mass is celebrated on the small island of Kirkkokari in Köyliönjärvi lake is Sunday, June 16. The bus to Köyliö leaves St Henry's Cathedral in the morning. The bus fare is EUR 25 and is paid in cash on the bus. To sign up for the pilgrimage and to check the schedule, please contact St Henry's Parish by calling 09-637853.
Both going to and coming from Köyliö the bus will stop for a coffee break in Humppila. Shopping is also possible.
The Mass is celebreated at the site of St Henry's martyrdom on the island of Kirkkokari. The crossing fee for boats or rafts to take the pilgrims to the island is EUR 4 per person.
After Mass, the local village association sells excellent sandwiches and coffee for a reasonable price on the lake shore, so you will not need to pack a lunch.
We will return to Helsinki around 7 p.m., depending on traffic.
For those interested in making pilgrimage on foot, please get in touch with Father Anders Hamberg by e-mail anders.hamberg@katolinen.fi.
