Painting of St Joseph

This is what the painting of St Joseph that St Henry's Cathedral Parish is giving to St Joseph's Church in Kuopio looks like. The painting hung in what was then St Henry's Church in the early 20th Century (more details here). Most recently the painting has adorned the walls of the Parish Priest's Residence. The work of art will be reframed before it is hung above the main altar at St Joseph's Church.

Bishop Teemu Sippo SCJ will consecrate the former Lutheran church in Männistö in Kuopio and dedicate it to St Joseph on Saturday, May 3rd, 2014. Monsignore Tuomo T. Vimpari will celebrate the first Sunday Mass in the new St Joseph's Church at 11 a.m. on May 4th.

Workshop for Lectors in May

St Henry's Cathedral Parish is offering a Lectors' Workshop in May to provide official training for those who feel called to assist the Parish through reading at the English-language Mass at the Cathedral (i.e. the 9.45 Mass on Sundays).

The Workshop for Lectors will be arranged on Saturday May 10th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St Henry's.

Caritas Bazaar at St Henry's on April 13

On April 13 we mark Palm Sunday and host the traditional Caritas Finland Palm Sunday Bazaar in the parish hall at St Henry's from 10.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.
