Mass in Tapanila webpage

Since September 2015, priests from St Henry's Cathedral Parish have regularly celebrated Mass at the Lutheran church in Tapanila. Now there is a separate page for the Masses in Tapanila on St Henry's website: please go to henrik.katolinen.fi/mass-in-tapanila for information on when Masses are celebrated in Tapanila as well as for a map of how to find the church there.

Holy Door opened

Bishop Teemu Sippo SCJ opened the Door of Mercy in St Henry's Cathedral on Sunday, December 13, 2015. The Door of Mercy is part of the Jubilee of Mercy proclaimed by Pope Francis.

Jubilee of Mercy begins

The Jubilee of Mercy begins in St Henry's Cathedral with a Bishop's Mass at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. On Sunday, December 13, the 11 a.m. High Mass begins with a procession from St John's Lutheran Church in Korkeavuorenkatu (see map below). When we reach the Cathedral, bishop Teemu Sippo SCJ solemnly opens the Door of Mercy, which is the main door of the Cathedral, and the Mass is celebrated there. This means that on December 13 there will be no Mass at 12.30.

More opprotunities for confession

During the Jubilee of Mercy there will be more opportunities for confession in St Henry's Cathedral. From Monday, December 14, there will be a priest in at least on of the confessionals in the Cathedral before every Evening Mass. After each Evening Mass we will also be praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Welcome!
